The 2010 Annual Trauma Symposium will be held
at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio from August 30 - September 1.


The Annual Trauma Symposium is a unique blend of military and civilian speakers and multidisciplinary topics for the entire team and a great opportunity for trauma care providers to stay abreast of the latest innovations
in care.

Our 2010 Opening Session will address Provider Resiliency and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. More than 80 research-based lectures over the two-and-a-half-day event will cover trauma critical care, trauma nursing, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, orthopedic trauma, burn surgery,neurosurgery, ophthalmology and craniofacial trauma. The program will also include plenary sessions on traumatic brain injury and resuscitation as well as an Advanced
Airway course.

CME and CNE:

• This activity has been approved for “AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.”™

• Nursing contact hours have been applied for through the Texas Nurses   Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the   American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Advanced Airway
Workshop Tuesday,
August 31, 2010
1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Advanced Airway Workshop is a three-hour course offered as part of the Annual Trauma Symposium, which will include live demonstrations on manikins and other adjunct materials.

The workshop will be conducted by Drs Venticinque and Hernandez--board certified anesthesiologists with board certification in critical care medicine. Additional advanced practice personnel with specialization in managing the challenging airway will assist with 13 learning stations where workshop participants can practice with the following devices:

• Video Laryngoscope
• Percutaneous Airway
• Laryngeal Mask
• Fiberoptic ETT Guides
• Surgical Airway
